Is because they stick together. Now I am in no ways about to become an apologist for government oppression of minorities nor am I retreating from my position, shared by Author Jonathan Kaufman (previously discussed on this board) that white skin privilege inures to the benefit of Jews in America, but just going through my photo albums last night and reflecting on how more of my friends over the years have been Jewish than black, really made me think.
And what I come up with isn't pretty. But it is pretty honest. See today's post "One World is Enough."

You know, all of us can get along. I've had Jewish people, some of them lawyers not once but more than twice befriend me since I was a kid; most -- not some -- of my friends in fact are Jewish. That's Wine Spectator's Daniel Sogg and Dr. Joshua/Breslau to my left, at State Debate Finals. We kicked ass that year. Eighteen (18) years later, Sogg's father helped with Michael Isreal's DWB case, and seven (7) years after that, Breslau hosted....(jump to page A2)
